How much does a rental cost?

The cost of renting an RV varies greatly depending on the type, size, year, and availability of the RV, as well as the desired length of the rental. Currently NYRV Rental Network has units ranging in cost from $150/Weekend (Pop-up Style Trailer) to $1600/Week (Premium Class A Diesel Pusher Motorhome) and everything in between.Use the Reservation Request form to determine the cost of your desired rental.

What deposits are required?

Upon confirmation, a $300 reservation down payment is charged to your credit card. This deposit will be applied toward your rental charges. A minimum damage deposit of $500 and estimated rental charges are payable at departure by credit card, money order, cash, or certified funds. Personal checks are NOT accepted. For certain rental applications, damage deposits may be increased at NYRV's sole discretion. Credit card deposits are processed at departure. Upon return, all extra charges, if any, are balanced against the damage deposit and a credit or check is issued to cover the refund within 10 business days. Reservation deposits are refundable with 21 days advance notice only. All reservation cancellations within 21 days of departure date will forfeit thier deposit.   

Is there a charge for the generator?

Sometimes. Select units in our fleet are equipped with generators for your use. The cost of the generator use varies from unit to unit. Please check our "View Our Fleet" page for information and specials concerning generators. Please note that generators are available on select models only. 

Do I need a special driver's license to drive a motorhome?

All you need is to be 25 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license. No special endorsement is needed. Authorized operators 21-24 years of age may drive a motorhome subject to $25/day fee. 

What kind of RV's do you rent?

Our inventory consists of numerous makes, models, types, and sizes of RV's. Our available units range from the Class A premium diesel pusher motor home, to the Class C toy haulers, to all size travel trailers, and even pickup slide-ons and Pop-Up tent campers. Do you rent RV's that will carry ATV's or motorcycles?

These units are called toy haulers. Thes vehicles provide living quarters up front and a garage in the back. For traveling, some of these units can accommodate up to 6 people. These units are availible in both towable and motorized versions.  

Is it difficult to drive/tow an RV?

Motorhomes handle much like a car, especially the "C" class which has a van chassis. A driving education booklet, as well as a pre-departure walk through will help you understand the do's and dont's of safe motorhome operation and travel trailer towing. 

Are your RV's difficult to hook up?

No. At departure you will be given a 30 minute walk through to help you learn how to hook it up and operate appliances. A small renters handbook will also be included in the event you need some information after departure. 

Does the RV come equipped sheets, dishes, and pots and pans?

No, but we rent 2 types of packages for bedding and cookware.

• The Personal Kit costs $35 per person, for the duration of the trip. It includes a sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, pillowcase, sheet set, beach towel, bath towel, washcloth and dishtowel. All items must be returned at end of trip.

• The Vehicle Provisioning Kit costs $75 per rental period. It includes a flashlight, can opener, broom, plastic pail, spatula, cooking spoon, cooking fork, coffee cups, tumblers, plates, soup bowls, silverware, tea kettle, colander, mixing bowl, and a cookware set. All items must be returned clean at end of trip.

Does the RV come with a TV, VCR, DVD, or stereo?

Different units come equipped with some or all of the above. Each individual unit will have all available ammenities described in our fleet page.  

Are pets allowed in the RV's?

Pets are welcomed in some of our units. Customer agrees to clean up after their pet and return unit in same condition as received, or be subject to a cleaning fee up to $250. This fee will be required as an additional security deposit prior to departure. If unit is returned clean and odor free, deposit will be returned with inital security. 

Can I park my car at your rental center while we travel?

While we do not have accomodations for vehicles to be left at our rental center, we do offer pickup and dropoff services for your convenience. 

Are we allowed to travel into Canada?

US registered vehicles are allowed to travel into Canada provided that NYRV is informed prior to departure. Additional insurance may be required for some units.  

Are we allowed to travel into Mexico?

NYRV strictly prohibits our RV's from entering Mexico. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover any travel to/from Mexico. Any renter found to have entered Mexico with an RV rented from NYRV wil forfeit all security held and be liable for additional penalties. 

Can we travel one way to our destination or do we have to travel round trip?

One Way reservations are available on a limited basis. There is an additional fee for one way travel, and it is only available on motorhome rentals. Please inquire about these special circumstances.. 

What methods are acceptable for payment of the rental?

NYRV will accept credit cards, debit cards, cash, cashiers check, and money orders for rental payment prior to departure. A minimum of $500 refundable security deposit is required prior to departure. A credit card MUST be on file for all rentals. 

Can I tow my car or boat behind a motorhome?

We do allow towing with some of our motorhomes. Select motorhomes come equipped with a tow package and will accomodate different size vehicles. There will be an additional fee of $10 per day if vehicle will be towed. In addition, the renter will be required to provide a tow bar, dolly, or trailer in safe working order. You may rent the above from NYRV for an additional fee if available. 

How much does it cost to stay in campgrounds?

Campground rates vary based on time of year and what facilities they offer. Generally you can expect to pay between $10 and $50 per night. NYRV will assist renters with campground locations and reservations as best as possible. Please see our main page for links to local, county, and state parks. There is also a few links to campgrounds within 300 miles which come very highly recommended. 

What if I return the vehicle before the date it is due?

No refunds will be made for early returns or late pick ups.  

What if I am late in returning the vehicle?

All vehicles are rented on a 24 hour basis. A fee of $15 per hour will be charged for each hour you are late up to the daily rate for that unit. Please notify NYRV if you will be late in returning.. 

Do you have baby car seats and cribs available?

Yes we do on a limited basis. Please inquire about these options at the time of your reservation. 

Is it safe to drink the water from the RV tank?

No, we do not recommend this. It is difficult to know if the water is potable when you fill the tank at a variety of locations. We recommend you use bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water from the tank is fine for washing and bathing.  

What if I am involved in an accident?

You must notify NYRV immediately in the case of an accident and make a full report in writing as well as file a police report. 

Are there bike racks?

We do have some units with pre-installed bike racks. We also do have a limited number of bike racks available for rent. 

Can you pick me up/ drop me off at the airport?

We would be happy to pick up and drop off renters at Long Island MacArthur airport which is approximately 2 miles from our office. There will be a $20 charge for each pickup and dropoff. 

Can I cancel my reservation?

You may cancel your reservation up to 21 days prior to the departure date and you will be refunded your reservation down payment in full. One way reservation deposits are not refundable. With less than 21 days notice and with all one-way reservation cancellations you will forfeit your reservation down payment.
